   Over the years I have experienced many wonderful happenings to people's lives and their health.  I would like to share some of them with you.  Of course the names have changed to protect their privacy.  I will interject some of the stories I remmeber throughout the years.

 

  I remember being on the adjusting floor with a room filled with families ready to get their adjustments one afternoon.  In the middle of it all Jane C. (not her real name) comes running up to me as I was going form one table to the other and she grabs me and gives me a big hug and says in front of everyone "thanks for getting me pregnant".  Now,  everyone knew that I am happily married and you could have heard a pin drop.  The story goes that Jane and her husband had been trying to get pregnant for about 9 years.  They had tried everything (I wish I had a penny for everytime I heard that) without success.  Often painful procedures and certainly embarrassing ones but, they wanted so desperately to have children.  One of my patients was a friend of Jane's and told her that she ought to try Main Street and Dr. Steve.  After careful evaluation, and about 3 months of adjustments and lots of "practice", Jane was pregnant.  As time went on they had 2 other children and I am proud to say that they are all 5 yes, the whole family are still under my care.

       My daughter has been going to Main Street Chiropractic since she was 12 weeks old.  The staff are warm and knowledgeable.  Chiropractors are members of the ICPA and trained in the needs of all members of your family.

Perhaps one of the funniest things to happen was when one of our massage therapists had her grandson brought in for constipation.  "Fred" was a newborn who had a traumatic birth, yes, if it is difficult for the mom, just think what the baby has to go thru, while he was being breast fed, he suffered from constipation.  He hadn't had a bowel movement for several days and was beginning to suffer.  The MD's were puzzled and the mom didn't want her son on drugs.  During the evaluation, I was checking the motion of the bones of the pelvis which can mimic the motion of a pelvic adjustment and we heard a "click".  Fred was so badly subluxated that the simple movement of the exam had adjusted his low back.  Within seconds, things  began moving and so did I.  His diaper runneth over.  The whole office knew that Fred was successful in completing the last steps of digestion.

My lower back just doesn't bother me now.  My allergies are much improved and I have stopped my medication for depression recently (and I still feel good).

There was a time when I had such lower back pain  that I couldn't stand, sit or sleep without intense pain.  After a few adjustments, I am pain free. I really feel great.

 Perhaps one of my most profound memories was the cousin of "Sue".  Sue had been a patient for several months and had gotten off all her prescription medications.  She was telling me of her cousin Debbie who lived in Chicago, yes, Illinois and that she was hooked on prescription pain medications so much so that she was fired from several jobs and had gotten in trouble with the law and was heading down a slippery slope.  I had given her the name of several docs in Chicago but Sue decided to send Deb a plane ticket to Philly to see me.  I have to tell you, I have seen a lot in my life but, I had never seen a situation like this.  She was in a bad way.  The docs had her so strung out on meds for her low back and other pains that just wouldn't go away.  After 2 weeks she was pain free and several months later, with proper medical advice we had her weaned off the meds and she was feeling the best she had in years.  She went back to Chicago and is now gainfully employed again.  Deb continues her chiropractic care and is the healthiest she has been in years.  It all statred when she was rearended in a 5 mph fender bender 4 years earlier.

Dr. F. is an excellent chiropractor w/ extraordinary skills.  Staff is courteous, efficient and friendly.

When I first started practicing In Phoenixville and I was a lot younger, I had hours from 7 am to 7 pm.  I had the commuters coming in before going off to Philly.  That was also when it took an hour to get in the city.   Anyone remember those days?  I had four "suits" sitting reading the paper up infront of their faces to obscure their  identity.  That was also when people didin't tell anybody they went to a chiropractor for fear of being ostrascized.  I had "Ruth" get up off the table and she started telling me that she no longer had irregular periods, suffered from PMS, cramping and all the other symptoms women often get from hormonal imbalances and subluxations in her low back.  As I listened, I also noticed as she went on, the men slowly took interest, lowered their papers and looked side to side  acknowledging each other with a simple and barely perceptable nod.  The very next day all of their wives came in for evaluations.
